Kenny "Ken" Waller was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana USA on March 20, 1942. He went to Western Kentucky University class of 1965, where he played football. Ken was known everywhere he trained because he was 6-foot-tall weighing 230 pounds and has a full head of curly red hair plus freckles, not easy to miss in a crowd.
Ken featured in the movie Pumping Iron with Arnold Schwarzenegger, when he won the IFBB Mr. Universe competition held in Pretoria, South Africa 1975. Ken competed often, all the way through three decades starting with the 1968 AAU Mr. Olympia where he placed 4th.
He won the AAU Mr. USA a year later in 1969, as well as the most muscular, he then placed 2nd at the Mr. America in 1970. He was just getting better and better because he then won both the AAU Mr. World and then the IFBB Mr. America straight after each other.
Ken won the IFBB Mr. International and the IFBB Mr. Universe in 1971 and 1972; in1973 he won the NABBA World Championships and then went on to win the IFBB Mr. Universe again in 1974 and 1975. His best professional title was the Mr. Olympia that he won in 1976 in the over 200lbs class.
Ken continued to train hard and compete right through to the 1981 Mr. Olympia where he placed 16th. Although he finally quit competing in 1982 Ken was not a quitter and went on to train still today where he lives in his hometown of Jeffersonville, Indiana at 74 years old and still healthy.
Ken describes his success at bodybuilding to learning the nutrition basics from the masters like Rheo Blair. Ken describes the basic foundation of nutrition that Blair shared with him have stayed with him the rest of his life. He continues by saying the idea of making a protein shake and adding extra amino acids to the mix was also something he had never considered.
