Casey Viator was born in New Iberia, Louisiana USA on September 4th 1951. Casey started training when he was a teenager and he competed for the first time in 1968, where he placed third in the Mr. Louisiana contest. In 1969 he placed 6th at the Teen Mr. America, winning Best arms, Best Chest, Most muscular and Best Legs.
Casey was just getting started because he went on to become the youngest man in bodybuilding history to win the Mr. America bodybuilding title at only 19 years old. He also won the Junior Mr. America only four weeks before this historic win. Casey continued to train hard over the next decade and achieved two important grand prix titles, winning in Louisiana and Pennsylvania in 1980.
Two years later Casey placed third at the Mr. Olympia competition in 1982, he ousted top names at that show beating Tom Platz, Samir Bannout, and Albert Beckles.
Casey Viator Workout
Casey was trained by Arthur Jones from the Nautilus Group for the year before the Mr. America contest in Florida.
Casey used some intense training techniques when he was guided by Arthur Jones. He would train his whole body three times a week in a brutal workout that lasted less than 1 hour, pushing very heavy weight. Below is the workout he would do including some of the poundages he would lift.
It is important to note that Casey would do these movements with a minimal rest between sets. His objective was to push himself to the extreme and keep the workout under an hous. Casey would also add calves and forearms to his workout at least twice a week, not listed on the routine below.
