It seems people will never get enough of him and he will live on forever in the public consciousness.
Bruce Lee, with his amazing skill, speed and power, may have been the best martial artist who ever lived, but he also has something extra - he had a amazing physique that was strong, muscular, balanced, symmetrical and ripped! Bruce Lee was 5'7" tall weighed 45 pounds. Some feel he had the most defined physique in history and have described his body as "warm marble".
What was Bruce Lee's workout routine and diet plan that made him into martial arts and fitness super star? Let's take a look...
Bruce Lee Workout Routine
After studying every book, course and magazine he could get his hands on concerning weight training, bodybuilding, fitness, etc., Bruce Lee boiled it all down and put together a workout routine that would give him lean muscle mass, strength and endurance.
Bruce Lee's circuit weight training routine was performed every other day, he would do the following exercises for 8 to 12 reps each, one after the other with no rest in between. He would then rest one minute and then go through the entire circuit again.
1. Clean and Press
2. Barbell Curls
3. Press Behind Neck
4. Upright Row
5. Barbell Squat
6. Bent Over Barbell Row
7. Barbell Bench Press
8. Barbell Pullover
Bruce Lee also worked his abdominals by doing Crunches, Roman Chair Sit-Ups, Hanging Leg Raises and V-Ups.
He also felt direct forearm work was especially important to improve grip strength and punching power, he used all kinds of grip strengthening equipment along with barbell wrist curls and dumbbell Zottman curls.
Bruce Lee Diet Plan
Of course you can't get a muscular and ripped body without proper nutrition and the Bruce Lee diet plan was based on a balance of protein and carbohydrates while keeping over all fat and calories low.
What exactly did Bruce Lee eat that made his muscles rock hard, and to give him strength and energy all while maintaining 3 percent or less body fat?
A typical Bruce Lee meal would be beef or liver in oyster sauce, with vegetables and steamed rice. He ate around five small meals throughout the day to maintain energy and to give his muscles protein and other nutrients.
He would also drink two protein shakes a day consisting of the following ingredients:
